Center for the Preservation of Genetic Resources of Humans, Animals, Plants, and Microorganisms
The Republican DNA Bank of humans, animals, plants, and microorganisms was established at the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2013 by order of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.
In 2016, the Bank was granted the status of National Heritage (Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 629). Its activities are carried out in compliance with legal regulations, including the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Genetic Resources Management” of March 5, 2024, No.356-3

The DNA Bank offers two collaboration formats for the preservation and use of genetic material.
DNA samples of strategic interest for prospective scientific research in the future are accepted.
Samples for current research. May be provided to legal entities (with depositor consent) for molecular genetic work.
The Republican DNA Bank possesses unique material for projects in the field of genetics and ecology.
The DNA Bank is open to collaboration with institutes, laboratories, and biobanks. Agreements have been concluded with a number of institutions.
