ANALYSIS OF THE SPECIES AFFILIATION IN MEAT INGREDIENTS

This type of analysis allows identifying the source of animal protein and detecting adulterants. Raw and heat-treated meat products (carcass parts, minced meat and sausages), raw materials and foodstuff ingredients, dry and canned feedstuff for animals and birds, compound feed etc. are used for analysis. *Since 1996, all EU countries have banned the feeding of animals with meat and bone scraps produced from mammal meat due to the risk that prion diseases are communicated. Despite this, dishonest manufacturers add it to feedstuffs as part of fish meal.
