Scientific and pedagogical activity results of Institute’s staff members at educational institutions

In 2024, 6 Institute’s staff members were involved in teaching at the educational institutions of the Republic:

  • The Belarusian State University, the lecture course “Technologies in Molecular Diagnostics” for third year students of the Molecular Biology Department, Yu.V. Polyukhovich, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor;
  • The Belarusian State University, laboratory practicals on the special practicum “Working with DNA. Techniques” for  third and fourth year students of the Molecular Biology Department, A.N. Shchayuk, PhD in Biology;
  • The International State Ecological Institute named after A.D. Sakharov (BSU), the lecture course for third year students “Genetics. Radiation Genetics”, P.M. Morozik, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor;
  • The University of NAS of Belarus, the lecture course “Synthetic Biology” for second year students of the Master’s degree program, G.V. Mozgova, PhD in Biology;
  • The Belarusian State University, practical classes of second year students of the Biotechnology Department “Animal Biotechnology. A Practicum”, M.E. Mikhailova, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor;
  • The Belarusian State University, a lecture and practical classes for the third year students of the Biotechnology Department “Animal Biotechnology”, T.V. Dolmatovich, PhD in Biology


Under the academic supervision (or co-supervision) of Institute’s employees, in 2024, 10 diploma theses and 27 course papers of the students of the Belarusian State University, the International State Ecological Institute named after A.D. Sakharov (BSU), as well as 10 Master’s theses of Master’s course students of the State Educational Institution “The University of NAS of Belarus” and the Belarusian State University.

Organization of student practicals and training for the teachers of educational institutions at the Institute

A number of persons that have had a production and pre-diploma internship under the supervision of Institute’s employees –33 persons from:

  • The Belarusian State University, the Faculty of Biology–25 persons;
  • The Belarusian State University, the Faculty of Ecological Medicine, the International State Ecological Institute named after A.D. Sakharov–5 persons;
  • The Belarusian State Agricultural Academy–1 person;
  • The University of NAS of Belarus–1 person;
  • The Belarusian State Technological University–1 person

The Institute has departments, branches of departments, laboratories, training centers etc. jointly with educational institutions.

In order to attract talented young people and to enhance the training efficiency of highly qualified scientific personnel, 4 branches of departments have been established and are operational at the Institute:

  • Plant Selection & Biotechnology, the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy (order No. 185а/213-OD of September 27, 2024; a person in charge – Olga Babak, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor);
  • Ecological & Molecular Genetics, the Faculty of Ecological Medicine, the International State Ecological Institute named after A.D. Sakharov of the Belarusian State University (order No. 20-о of March 27, 2008 / No. 07-о of March 31, 2008;

a person in charge of the Department – Alexander Kilchevsky, PhD in Biology, Professor, Academician);

  • Molecular Biology, the Faculty of Biology of the Belarusian State University (order No. 363 OD / 43-о of June 27, 2012; a responsible person by the order No. 556-OD / 121 of September 27, 2022 – Yuliya Polyukhovich, PhD, Associate Professor);
  • Genetics, the Faculty of Biology, the Belarusian State University (order No. 362 OD / 44-о of June 27, 2012; a responsible person – Valentina Lemesh, PhD, Associate Professor).

Taking part in the work of scientific as well as scientific and technical councils of educational institutions and state examination commissions on defending graduation and diploma theses and on entrance examinations.

  • N.I. Dubovets, corresponding member – Chairperson of the State Examination Commission No. 4 by specialties 1-31 01 03 Microbiology and 1-31 01 01 Biology (Specialty areas: 1-31 01 01-01 Scientific and Production Activity; 1-31 01 01-02 Scientific and Pedagogical Activity) of the Faculty of Biology, the Belarusian State University;
  • A.P. Ermishin, PhD in Biology, Professor – a member of the Specialized Thesis Defense Council at the Institute of Microbiology, NAS of Belarus (by the specialty “biotechnology”, including “bionanotechnology”);
  • P.M. Morozik, PhD, Associate Professor – a member of the State Examination Commission on Master’s Thesis Defense No. 140, the International State Ecological Institute named after A.D. Sakharov of the Belarusian State University.
